Hi, I want to view DGN files. I have jumped through all the hoops to get this DGN Viewer but it does not run. I have the Connection Client, a log-in, and downloaded Bently View Connect. It runs a start-up, then flashes out of existence: nothing opens, no request to log-in. I've tried restarting, repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling. There is a Windows plug-in (I have W10) but installing that does nothing. All the support say to go through the Connection Client and "check out" a license, but I apparently don't have access - all software downloads are greyed out. Is this a FREE VIEWER or not? Why is this so complicated? I just want to see DGNs!Thanks in advance.

I have nothing against Bentley/Microstation, I just want to help my clients view files sent to them. I have helped them install an AutoCAD viewer and it was a simple download, runs with no issues. I can't fathom why Bentley would make it so hard for people to view data created with their software. It seems there is just no workaround to this. I have tried the DGN Reader for Windows and it doesn't even come with an application, just an end-user document. I'll have to import into AutoCAD for now.
Agreed, it is unbelivable... I did download and use Bentley View connect edition when it was relased ( 1-2 years ago? ) I liked it, to bad it is not possible to download anymore... Unfortunatly that computer with Bentley view connect died some time ago.
The viewer needs to be a free and easy to access download to guarantee its use - our clients need to be able to use the DGN format as a standard and not imported into a third party product. Otherwise it will appear we are using a second rate product.
AutoCAD is one of the most used CAD software around the globe. However, it is relatively expensive since it costs $1,575 a year. For interoperability purposes, Autodesk, the company behind AutoCAD and one of the largest names in the field of drafting and 3D CAD design, developed DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) to allow for interoperability between AutoCAD and other CAD programs. And you do not need to purchase AutoCAD to view a DXF file since there are several free DXF viewers available for download online that you can use to view DXF files without using a penny.
BranchCache is not available by default in the Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista operating systems. On these operating systems, however, if you download and install the Windows Management Framework update, BranchCache functionality is available for the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) protocol only. For more information, and to download Windows Management Framework, see Windows Management Framework (Windows PowerShell 2.0, WinRM 2.0, and BITS 4.0) at /powershell/scripting/windows-powershell/install/installing-the-windows-powershell-2.0-engine. 2ff7e9595c
